Vogue 1020---- The Little Black Dress

It's day 28---the last day of the Fearless February Challenge!!!!! It's just a few minutes after 10pm and I'm calling it the end of the challenge for me. I was hoping to finish up another piece---Burda 7236 Jacket. I was 70% done. Darn----oooh so close. Well I'll just show it off in a few days. Well I did manage to complete my Little Black Dress. It's Vogue 1020 and is actually the 3rd time I've made it. I love this dress! It's fitted and has lovely rouching on the side. This dress has convinced me that I need to definitely get back on my workout routine. Hey swimsuit season is near anyway and I need to kick the laziness.

So it wouldn't look like a basic black dress I used a thicker knit fabric with a bit of gabardine-like texture that you can see up close. I also paired the dress with a chunky black/white/silver necklace. This is a cute dress that I'm very pleased with.

Ok that's my last Fearless February Challenge garment. Next up is my review of the month...... Can't wait to recap my experiences for the month!!!

  13. Hello Victoria - the dress has worked well, and with the ruching the "lazyness" won't be too obvious - ruching is good for that.

    1. Thanks SLSS!!!! You're so right. I wish my midsection was the problem. Unfortunately it's my backside that needs a bit of toning. If I wear a dress like this I want to do it justice:)

  14. Love this dress Victoria! I have this pattern and have come close to making it but chicken out each time! Did you line yours?

    1. Hey Lady!!!! No I didn't line it. I also omitted the zipper too! This dress went together so quick on my serger and I used my coverstitch for the neckline and hems!!!

  15. Love your dress Victoria! And I have been following your blog for several months now and I enjoy it a lot; also, I must admit I am very jealous to read you are able to squeeze three hours' sewing into your daily routine!

    1. Hi Ester Lara!!!! Thanks for following. I'm so jealous of where you live!!!! I bet it's divine! Also for the record---it's 3 hours or sewing and/or sewing related activities (sewing reading/blogging/shopping etc.) So everyday I'm not exactly sewing that long but I do get in my sewing---averaging at least 15+ hours a week:)
