Sewing Jots and Tittles 6.15.13

First off, Happy early Father's day to all of those wonderful Fathers and Father-like figures!!!! Having a great father definitely was a benefit to my life. Thanks for all you do!

Here's another sewing jots and tittles post. I'm baring all of my ideas, crazy thoughts and opinions for my mental release and your amusement (wink).

Sewing, Fashions and Such
Found this fabric at Hancock fabrics and fell in love with it. The colors are better than depicted here. The background is a deep teal and it has purple, light blue and chartreuse. It's a neat mix! I'm  trying to think of the perfect design for it.

This pattern is my daughter through and through. She's been wanting me to make tights for her for a while and the top is too cute! Gotta try & squeeze this one in the schedule.

Got an upgrade. I had the 2009 version and found out through threads that I could get the newest version for $39. So I sold my old one and bought the upgrade:)

I found this gorgeous white and gold rope!!! I can't wait to make the perfect dress and use this as an embellishment.

I'm itching to sew up this gray and black zebra knit. Dare I say another peplum (I've made 3 so far)? It would be my first knit one.

I'm all out of 3/4" elastic:( This bulk package lasted forever. I guess sewing alot of leggings can really kill your elastic stock!

I was all too excited to see this display at Jo-Ann's. Bright color thread and zippers for denim. Make me really want to make some yellow denim capris!

Non-Sewing

The day I discovered these went down in history!!! They were awesome!!!

Are my eyes deceiving me? You mean to tell me that the regular price of these "vintage chairs" is $99. I see these types of chairs on the street corner or in a dump. Hey......you give me $99 and I will make it my mission to get you these broke down.........I mean vintage chairs! LOL!!!!!

This sign from Dr. Seuss' "The Lorax" was hanging in the hall of my daughter's school. Can you imagine how much better this world would be if everyone took this serious???

Saw the writings on this picture and loved it!!!!

One of the current books I'm reading. It encourages you to not depend solely on your passion but to build a strong skill set that makes you irresistible. There are some neat insights offered here.

Ok, this is a bit of a mystery to me. So I was at my local grocery store and  I saw these cupcakes from the bakery section hidden in the natural food section. The strange thing was that all 4 of them were missing their frosting. Hmmmmmm.....it's this the new level of theft? You go hide out in the store and lick the frosting off of cupcakes. Was there a icing addict on the loose? This really had me perplexed!!! LOL!

Looks like I just got on the Essie bandwagon. Oh.....after all of these years of complaining to be too cheap to pay $8 for polish. Truth be told I only paid that for the first---and it was worth it. This is some REALLY great polish. I used coupons for the rest of them getting a $2-$3 discount.

We have one of these that my Hubby got for free and we take to the beach. It works pretty impressively. But what's really impressive is the mom depicted on the box. Look how she's carrying her baby, has all of the beach gear and has all of the other kids holding hands and in single file. Great advertising strategy!!!

  3. oh god, the frosting story is awful...(makes sad and ugly face at the mental picture). There is a Safeway store in our old downtown with the most interesting shoppers. I can totally see this happening there.

  7. as always, another great post, I will note the book recommendation, its navy blue jersey for lining that I have been running through like crazy inside of elastic. I love seeing all the clothes you make for your daughter, she photographs so well, such a cutie pie I think we all enjoy seeing her new outfits
