Victoria, I've been sewing for many, many years but after gaining more than 40 pounds when I was pregnant over 19 years ago I didn't like making outfits in larger sizes. Your blog has encouraged me to take steps to loosing weight and get back to sewing clothing I'll fee great wearing. Thanks.
Hi Roselyn!!!! So nice to hear from you. Wow, that's just wonderful. It's obvious you're a REALLY pretty lady from your pic (smile). Glad you feel motivated to get healthier and hop back on the "sewing saddle". I'd LOVE to see some of your sewn garments. Definitely send some pics my way:)
I love books as well, and so far your posts about the books you've purchased or added to your wish list have inspired me to buy three books at Amazon.com: 1.Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell. 2.The Business of Sewing by Barbara Wright Sykes 3.Overcoming Doubt, Fear, and Procrastination by Barbara Wright Sykes
I was also inspired by your posts about Mr. Jim, your tailoring teacher. I have signed up for updates from his blog as well.
Hi Victoria, my name is Orleans and I really love everything about sewing. I have just recently stumbled upon "The Tailor and the Dressmaker Show" and have watched all 70 episodes, and let me tell you, I am so very inspired, especially when you said not to stop sewing, then start again after several weeks. That's what I've been doing because I had no other projects. Now I know that when there are no projects, it's not an option to stop sewing, but to continue to perfect the craft, sewing straight, do zippers, and pockets. Thanks to you guys, I'm back hard at work and looking to soon launch my own business in alterations just as soon as I've received and studied gentleman Jim's DVD on basic alteration. Thank you guys so very much, love you both and I'm looking forward to seeing more of your videos.
