On the cutting table.....

Whoa the last week and a half has been B-U-S-Y!!! How have you guys been holding up? Isn't it crazy that it's almost May!!!!???. I promise you we'll all blink and it will be Christmas again! LOL!

Well I've been a bit preoccupied with client work ( I've got a couple of "fancy dresses to make in the very near future) so I've been a bit all over the place. But I have 2 projects I plan to knock out this weekend. Here they are.....

I've got the dress already cut and ready to sew and just have to cut out the peplum top. This will be my 3rd peplum and it will be the 2nd time I've used this Vogue 8816 pattern. Is there  a limit to the amount of peplum's one can have???? I sure hope not because I can see by the end of Summer I may be in some big trouble! LOL!!!

I'm really excited that true Spring weather has kicked in effect! We kinda had a late start this year. I look forward to adding interchangeable, bright, and fun pieces to my wardrobe.

Well that's what's been up with me. How are things going for you? You have any exciting weekend sewing plans???

  2. I just made the McCall's dress this week! I used a gorgeous summer rayon instead of a knit and it turned out awesome, I can't wait to wear it, if warm weather EVER comes to Colorado this year!!! I am so done with Winter, it is not even funny.

  4. I'm working on a version of vogue 8816 right now too. It's the pattern that's being used in my Craftsy fitting class. I'm looking forward to seeing what you're making from it :D

  5. You don't have too many peplums! As long as you like something and wear them regularly you can't have to many of anything. (Okay, maybe wedding dresses.)

  6. kindred spirits...like you, I adore working with and wearing knits! Now another commonality...PEPLUM TOPS! No there cannot be a limit because either you or I would break that limit two fold! I think peplum tops are so girly and I just love them too! I'm going to join you this summer with a few of my own too! Good luck with yours and love that maxi dress pattern, can't wait to see it!

  7. Great choices, and sure to be lovely on you. I have been wanting to make another peplum, but want to do a sleeveless version and am waiting for warmer weather. We are still windy and cold here in the desert at 4500ft.
