The rules are simple---BE FEARLESS!!!
Use this month to tackle the following project(s):
-Anything you've been putting off sewing!
-Anything you've been AFRAID to sew!
-Try pattern draping or drafting
-Sew with a fabric that's intimidated you in the past.
-Recreate a garment of interest.
Again, read more about the challenge purpose HERE
Last year was great and you guys really stepped up to the challenge!!! I was pretty proud of my own accomplishments HERE. I'll list my challenge goals in the next post. I've got some exciting plans! I intend to MAXIMIZE the month and get alot done!!!! I can't wait to share!!!
Again you decide what you want to do. Let me know if you want to participate---(it starts Feb 1st and lasts the entire month). I'd love to highlight your finished product(s)!!! Ok, who's interested in participating?????
I love being first! I'll join as last year's challenge really helped me stretchhhhhhh! I need to continually stretch. Not sure what I'll do, but count me in please.
ReplyDeleteThis is always fun! I'll do it.
ReplyDeleteI will!! I have several things I want to conquer. Will have to choose! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm in. I have never sewn for DH so it might be his turn. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm in! I want to do a pair of pants/jeans, and an archer shirt.
ReplyDeleteThanks for doing this again! I want to make a sloper for my top half.
ReplyDeleteI'm in! I'm a self taught beginner so there's A LOT I haven't done. But I do have a pillow case to finish for my youngest son so that will definitely be done. I have a couple of different other things I'd like to get done too. I'm gonna set my goal to get at least two projects completed.
ReplyDeleteHa ha but of course I must enter.
ReplyDeleteI am in. My goal is to succeed at fitting the bodice and sleeve of Vogue 1212, which I am determined to turn into a coat that will fit me. This is not easy, I have already made four mockups of the bodice, and it still isn't right, but getting closer. I have wanted and needed a new coat/raincoat for years, and what stops me is not having a pattern that fits well enough to function.
ReplyDeleteCount me in! I will be tackling a lot this year anyway and know I will have a lot to challenge myself with!
ReplyDeleteI'm in!!! I need the little push. Thank you for organizing it again!
ReplyDeleteI'm in, not sure of the project(s) yet.
ReplyDeleteI'm in. I already have several projects in mind. I want to tackle linings, buttons and lightweight fabric. " I am more than a conqueror"! :-)
ReplyDeleteI wasn't sewing last time you did this but I read about it in the archives and I'm really glad you decided to make it an annual thing. I'm going to be sewing with fabrics I've never used before because I have all kinds of weird things in my stash and don't have the budget to buy more than the occasional zipper.
ReplyDeleteI'm in! I let a lot of crap (and my own fears) get in the way last year when I wanted to participate. This year, I'm kicking it all to the curb!
ReplyDeleteMe, I am in. Need this challenge to make me focus. Will start planning.
ReplyDeleteVictoria, I am in. I am going to attempt to sew a Marfy pattern. These patterns are known to be quite difficult because there aren't any instructions, and the seam allowance is not included. I often sew Burda patterns from the actual magazine. You have to trace your color coded pattern size, add 5/8 seam allowances and read instructions without picture illustrations. I figured that since I have conquered my fear of sewing Burda patterns, that Marfy would definitely be worth giving a try.
ReplyDeletethis is a good challenge, I'm in the mist of challenging myself to lining a jacket at the moment, with the help of a friend of course lol!
ReplyDeleteHelen
I am in. I have been unable to thing about much else since reading this post. I just conquered buttons, on the sewing machine!
ReplyDeleteI am in. I do not have a blog but I will definitely be challenging myself personally to accomplish something I have never tried.
ReplyDeleteI am in. I've been in a sewing rut lately so this is just what the dr ordered. I am going to try my hand at a few blazer. First, some easy ones and then more classic ones. I am always cold, so these will be a good addition to my wardrobe.
ReplyDeleteVictoria I am so much in...I jut completed three days sewing class with Ron Collins and this will be an opportunity to try all have been ytaugh.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting
I am in. Maybe this will help me get sewing.
ReplyDeleteWoot! Count me in! I have a few ideas of stepping outside my comfort zone that I was planning on tackling anyway - this is the perfect motivation to move forward with them!
ReplyDeleteCount me in too! Last yearI found out too late to do it, so 2014 is a long-awaited consolation :) My fearless plan is very simple: sew one project in February. This will be a big step back into sewing because I have hardly sewn at all since DD was born in 2010...!
ReplyDeleteI'm in too! Not sure what it'll be, maybe pants. I've never sewn pants so that'll be a challenge for sure.
ReplyDeleteI'm in. I have jeans to make, and they scare me. But I've got the rub-off pattern from beloved jeans, and I'm 2 1/2 pairs in to perfecting the fit.
ReplyDeleteI'm in...I've been putting off making my husband a smoking jacket for over a year! It's all brocades and silky fabrics and I'll have to alter the pattern a bit for his size.
ReplyDeleteOk. I'm now ready to join in. I'll be making cargo pants (Silhouette patterns). I think I have my adjustments sorted, fabric chosen and cargo hardware:))
