Sutton Blouse Review & my New Youtube Sewing Show

Happy August! This month will be full of lots of sewing for sure. I finally get to start it off by sewing for me. Haven't done that in a while LOL! I was excited when Mari Miller creator of Seamster patterns asked me to  be a part of spreading the word of about the upcoming Sewing Indie Month (SIM). To celebrate she has teamed up with other Indie patternmakers to create a wonderful bundle of patterns that are on sale through the 12! The top I'm wearing is one of the patterns. It's the Sutton blouse by True Bias and let me just say that I love this top! I love the interesting design lines and drape. I pulled out this beautiful Asian inspired dark berry polyester from my stash and I think it's a match made in Heaven. I LOVE this top!  See pattern sale details below! Also, before I forget did you know I have a YOUTUBE show coming out in just 3 days???? I've posted it for a while on my FB page.  I'm teaming up with that well known Master Tailor---Gentleman Jim--- that you guys know and love so well.  To hear more details check out this post...... http://finetailoringbyjim.blogspot.com/2015/07/my-new-sewing-show-tailor-and.html. More details tomorrow......Happy Sewing!
(Front view. Hubby was gone, was in hurry for visiting friend to take a pick so I threw on some old capris. I plan to wear with black leggings and strappy heels. I like that this top can be dressed up or down.)

(Excuse after wear wrinkles. Just wanted to show that top was assymetrical---front shorter than back)

Here are the details about the sale.....
  • The sale will run from Monday August 3rd to Wednesday August 12th.
  • Please link to the sale at: https://www.sewindependent.com/index.php/product/sewing-indie-month-pattern-bundle-1

Just a few examples of what the International Folk Art Alliance has been able to accomplish by helping artists create stable, year-round livelihoods includes helping shelter women from domestic violence in Ecuador, building a school for children in Pakistan, empowering women in repressive cultures around the world, and feeding villages in Niger.
  • Sewing Indie Month (SIM) is a month-long celebration of indie sewing patterns where designers collaborate to bring you fun blog posts and informative tutorials. This year SIM will take place in September. It's accompanied by a sewalong contest with fantastic prizes. Since the patterns in the SIM Bundle 1 are mostly wovens, this sale gives you time to make muslins before the contest begins in September while supporting small women-owned businesses and raising money for charity.

  1. I am so glad you are close to S.C. My daughter and her beau are talking marriage. She has the gown on her phone. It is not official so we are not ready yet. :-)
