On My Radar......
I have a crazy obsession with knit blazers! I've always wanted one or two. Well I saw a couple of really cute one's being worn by some ladies at church today and that put my desire for a knit blazer into OVERDRIVE! I love how the blazers are just perfectly cool and chic. They can be worn casually or dressed up. And of course they're made of knit so they're all too comfortable. I'm hoping to sew up at least one of these for this month's "Sewing Boot Camp" challenge. I hope to track down the perfect ponte or double knit for the project!
I agree - these are fab! Looking forward to seeing what you come up with. I suspect the quality of the knit matters fir these.
ReplyDeleteI love those knit jackets too, in fact I've just bought some black and white stripe ponte knit to make a stripey blazer too. Well it's on my long sewing to do list anyway!
ReplyDeleteThose are nice. What pattern are you going to use?
ReplyDeleteI'm with you Victoria!! That last picture looks like one I saw at Target. This is going on my "to do" list as well, it is such a functional classy piece. I look forward to seeing what you come up with!
ReplyDeleteThe perfect pattern will be B5926 designed for ponte knit and cotton knit.
ReplyDeleteI also love StyleArc's Marni Jacket - it can be made from ponte or double knit and it has a subtle peplum - yum!
ReplyDeleteI made B5926 in grey and really liked it and since then (FOR MONTHS!) I have been on the HUNT for a navy/white striped ponte and have not found what I wanted :( Can't you just SEE a navy/white ponte blazer with all manner of colorful shorts/skinny leg pants?!? Coral. Kelly green. Red. The options are ENDLESS! :-)
ReplyDeleteI love blazers, too. I need to make some for work. All those look really nice.
