when you can market something called "Pajama jeans".
I was laying out fabric for a pattern when I saw the infomercial for Pajama jeans. Have you seen it? Can you say "disturbing". Had I not seen the commercial and only read the title I wouldn't know what to make out of this product. But to me the commercial, although explanatory is a bit strange. Here's the Pajama jean infomercial. Now tell me why I would want to wear jeans that feel as soft as pajamas. Or to work out in. Or to sleep in. In all fairness, I see where they're trying to go with this. I mean who doesn't want extremely comfortable jeans. And of course jeggings are all the craze since they're the best of jeans and a legging and are extremely comfortable. And everyone doesn't want to wear comfortable sweat pants all of the time. So hence the Pajama Jean. But you have to admit the name Pajama jeans is a bit strange and confusing. Marketing jeans that feel like pajamas. That's some marketing strategy! To that I say No-Thank You! LOL!
I wasn't the only who saw that and said, "what the heck?" Oy!
ReplyDeleteThat's a no from me as well.
That's an interesting commercial.... Anyway, I would be saying No thank you as well!
ReplyDeleteJust wrote a whole comment and the blog ate it! All I can say is, I want them! Seriously, they're comfy, they fit well! (If the infomercial isn't lying - and what's the chance of that, I ask you - then they're just the thing.) :-) I hear what you're saying, of course, they've got to change the name - and the marketing method. But something tells me that these things have promise.
ReplyDeleteAmen.
ReplyDeleteLOL I had exactly the same reaction when I saw the ad for these. YUK. It's maybe one step up from women who wear flannel pj's out in public. Or maybe not. I would guess that neither of us will be buying these.
ReplyDeleteHilarious! Thankfully, its Continental U.S., AK & HI orders only ... or I might have been tempted!
ReplyDeleteWow, fascinating. Nope, hadn't heard of them, but they seem kind of inevitable now that I have. I have to wonder if, in person, they do look like a nice fitting jean or if they are just the Croc or the Ugg of 2011. Let the mocking commence. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for informing me!! I like to be aware of all trends, both fashionable and otherwise. :)
LOL K-Line! I have no doubt these things will sale like gangbusters! Hey a stretchy jean makes everyone's butt look fantastic! I guess there's a market for everything. If you get a pair let me know how you like them:)
ReplyDeleteDid they come with stiletto slippers if you ordered within the next 5 minutes?

Well, they certainly would look better than some of the "comfy" stuff being worn out in public already. I'm still waiting for the "rules of dress" to do an about turn, so that people would actually have to "get dressed" to go out their front door.
ReplyDeleteUm, is it sad that I actually think they're onto something as well? I wouldn't dare wear "jeggings", mostly because I can't pull off the skinny jean look because of my thighs (and partly because I think the term "jegging" is ridiculous), but these have the comfort of those, plus a bit of room on the bottom of the leg to avoid the skinny jean look. I agree....the name has got to go, but I don't think they look that terrible!
ReplyDeleteyou are right, jeggings made sence because most women like their jeans fitted yet comfortable but like PJs? I joke all the time that knit dresses feel like pjs but they sure don't look like I was wearing a set. I think they are taking that concept to the next level
ReplyDeleteUmm...you are right...this is disturbing!
ReplyDeletePersonally, I'm all for comfort as long as it can be combined with some style. I'm not quite sure about these though because I had always thought that jeans needed some kind of tight, pull you in, kind of thing going on to make the person wearing them look good. Or at least that's what I need in a pair of jeans!
ReplyDeleteWow, I think that's a brilliant idea~ a traditional staple ,plus comfort! I'll take a pair.I believe they have the possiblity to be the 2011 Uggs and Crocs. :)
ReplyDelete@Christina~ that's too funny! I wonder if they can make the stilleto slippers as comfy, hee-hee!
They really should reconsider changing the name.
I cracked up when I saw the commercial. No. 251 on the list of useless things to buy.
ReplyDeleteI guess its better than wearing your actual Pajamas out in public??? But yeah, I totally laughed at the infomercial...my husband actually pointed it out to me over the holiday LOL
ReplyDeletePersonally, I believe that the concepts "jeans" and "comfort" can not be in the same sentence, they are contradictory.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Mushywear...this is quite disturbing. No thank you!
ReplyDeleteThe first time I saw the ad my husband was sitting with me and I started yelling at the tv. I could not believe it was real! The first thing I thought of was that Perfect Fit Button thing they advertised awhile back for when your pants get to small and you don't want to stop wearing them. Just snap this extra button on to "let out" your pants. Google it if you haven't seen it. It also made me yell at the tv!
