Yes, it can be a major relief when embroidered and beaded poly white satin goes out the door - even if I swear bits of it still twinkle from my carpet! For instance you don't have to look through them all. The "Salmon tiered top" is in there by name and the third one I believe is called the "Zebra print peplum". Sorry I didn't have time to go back and number everything. Thanks so much for following along with me and including me in such a wonderful list of sewing bloggers. I'm delighted to hear you'll be getting back to sewing. Sounds like you've got the passion for it! I've had a project like the Christening gown and I was all too happy to see it walk out my door! LOL! I have no doubt you'll be able to get your wardrobe back in shape when you get to sewing. I wish you all the best!!!Victoriahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15055410123914346485noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3699537904435529619.post-41483875040574022562014-01-02T17:17:51.773-08:002014-01-02T17:17:51.773-08:00Thanks Vanessa and it's awesome you're goi...Thanks Vanessa and it's awesome you're going in a direction you're happy with! Did you write about making them in previous posts? I would love the dates so I can know what patterns you used. Your work is amazing. You, Carolyn (Diary of a Sewing Fanatic) and Goodbye Valentino, are major inspiration for me and I am determined that once I get new knees in the Spring, I am getting back to sewing for me. My most recent sewing was for a Christening layette made from the bride's gown. I made a Christening gown from a 1968 McCalls pattern, as well as a boy's romper (from the parts of the gown without sequins, pearls or embroidery) and a boy's hat as well as a girl's bonnet, a full-length coat and a shorter "sacque" type of jacket with some embroidery on the fronts. Took forever and if I never see white poly satin again it will be too soon, but the items were well received. I am trying to lose another 50 lbs before surgery and then will be a size I am happier with. Then I can get busy and revamp my sad, tired wardrobe. I may have to start with a top like the one in your third photo. Not sure I could pull off the tiered one but would like to try. Happy New Year, and thanks for all the inspiration.Nancyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11926160625275737447noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3699537904435529619.post-79995420936024219212014-01-02T00:19:56.512-08:002014-01-02T00:19:56.512-08:00I don't post here as much as I would like, but...I don't post here as much as I would like, but I love your positivity, your blog in general, and a thank-you to introducing me to Gentleman Jim. Look forward to what comes next. In fact, I have been in awe of your and Gentleman Jim's blogs and your skills. I kind of turned off all my jets at the end of '13 because I was being led in too many directions and not charting my own course. Just reading your recap made me realize what my own focus is going to be. Trying to solve my own fit issues and those in my immediate family. I will continue to follow you two.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10803784965077660381noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3699537904435529619.post-50498242876619323172014-01-01T21:16:41.073-08:002014-01-01T21:16:41.073-08:00I agree that you sewed some fabulous garments in 2...I agree that you sewed some fabulous garments in 2013! 2014 is sure to be another wonderful year for you!Vanessahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02426270867775857048noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3699537904435529619.post-34096826544229346502014-01-01T21:00:26.182-08:002014-01-01T21:00:26.182-08:00You certainly made some fabulous clothes last year...You certainly made some fabulous clothes last year - I look forward to seeing what you accomplish this year.
